Pokemon Worlds Heads to Singapore for 2027

At the end of Worlds 2026, Pokemon announced Worlds 2027 will be held in Singapore from August 13th to 15th. They did not release any additional information such as venue details or when tickets would go on sale.

2027 Pokemon Championship Series Event Schedule

Pokémon has announced the schedule and upcoming changes for the 2027 season. As part of this, Pokémon Unite will no longer be part of the Championship Series. Pokémon Go will also undergo changes. The tournament will feature 3-on-3 team play, with teams formed from the pool of qualified players. VGC changes will allow players to use either Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 consoles. 2026 Worlds Promo Kit Revealed

The welcome kit for Worlds competitors has been revealed by TPCi, including the annual Paradise Resort promo card they'll receive as a part of the kit. The kit includes a playmat, hat, and a backpack. The Paradise Resort and yearly Pikachu card can be viewed on the Mega Evolutions promos gallery page.

NAIC on the Move to Chicago

After taking place in New Orleans for the past three years, TPCi has announced that NAIC will be moving to Chicago, IL. TPCi has selected McCormick Place Convention Center as the venue. No other details were announced.

Mega Evolution Pitch Black Build & Battle Box

TPCi has announced that the Pitch Black Prerelease will take place staring on July 4, 2026 through July 12, 2026. Cards from the set have been revealed and can be viewed on the Pitch Black gallery page and the prerelease promos on the Mega Evolution promo gallery.

Series 9 Prize Pack Reveal

TCPi Purchases Excell Brands

The Pokémon Company International has announced plans to acquire Excell Brands, one of the largest trading card game distributors in the United States. Excell currently supplies major retailers—including Target, Walmart, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, CVS, and Walgreens—making the move a significant play in the broader TCG distribution landscape.

By bringing Excell under its umbrella, TPCi stands to gain far greater control over product flow, allocation, and pricing across the country. For retailers and collectors alike, the acquisition could reshape how Pokémon TCG products reach shelves, potentially smoothing out availability issues that have plagued the market during high‑demand cycles.

What remains uncertain is how Excell’s relationships with other major TCG publishers will evolve. The distributor currently handles products for several top franchises, including Magic: The Gathering, Disney Lorcana, Yu‑Gi‑Oh!, and One Piece. Whether those partnerships will continue post‑acquisition has not yet been clarified.
